The event is exclusively for the community of Shipping Companies. To participate, each person must complete the online registration form, providing their contact details and consent.
No sailing experience is required! The event is open to everyone, regardless of their skill level. Professional skippers will be provided for all boats, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. You can take part in the sailing as much or as little as you like—whether you want to actively participate or simply enjoy the ride, the choice is yours!
The event is free of charge, and participants are welcome to bring one guest (including children aged 6 and above). Once registered, you will receive confirmation and further details about the event schedule, meeting point, and any necessary preparations. EVENT RULES
General Rules
- The event is open only to employees of ship-owning companies and event sponsors’ guest.
- Each participant is allowed to bring one guest (family member, friend, or partner). For safety reasons, only children above the age of 6 are allowed.
- Participants must respect the event schedule and be present for the race briefing, departure, and return times.
- The event promotes sportsmanship and teamwork—unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated.
Safety Onboard
- Life jackets must be worn when instructed by the skipper or in case of adverse weather conditions.
- Participants must always follow the instructions of the assigned skipper.
- Swimming is allowed only in designated areas and when the boat is stationary.
- Consumption of alcohol is not recommended while sailing.
- All participants must be physically fit to participate and disclose any medical conditions that may affect their safety.
Boat & Equipment Care
- Each crew is responsible for keeping their boat clean and undamaged throughout the event.
- Any damage caused by negligence may result in financial liability for the responsible participants.
- Personal belongings should be stored securely—the event organizers are not responsible for lost items.
Race & Competition Guidelines
- The regatta follows a friendly racing format, emphasizing participation over competition.
- Teams must respect race boundaries and follow navigation rules provided during the briefing.
- The assigned skippers will ensure compliance with sailing regulations and safety protocols.
- The use of engines during the race is prohibited unless for safety reasons.
Environmental Responsibility
- Participants must adhere to a strict "Leave No Trace" policy—all waste must be disposed of properly.
- It is forbidden to throw anything into the sea (plastic, cigarette butts, or other waste).
- A beach clean-up activity will take place as part of the event—participation is encouraged.
Liability & Waiver
- By registering, participants acknowledge that sailing is a physical activity that carries risks.
- The organizers are not liable for personal injury, loss, or damage to
LIABILITY WAIVER & TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
Acknowledgment of Risk
I, the undersigned participant, acknowledge that sailing and related activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to:
- Changing weather conditions
- Equipment failures
- Accidents, injuries, or drowning
- Collisions with other boats or objects
- Seasickness and fatigue
I understand that participation in the Drydockers Regatta is voluntary, and I assume full responsibility for my own safety and well-being throughout the event.
Release of Liability
I hereby release, waive, and discharge the event organizers, sponsors, yacht charter companies, skippers, volunteers, and any associated entities or individuals from any liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of:
- Personal injury, illness, or death resulting from my participation.
- Damage or loss of personal belongings.
- Accidents or injuries caused by other participants, vessels, or third parties.
This waiver applies even if the incident results from negligence (excluding gross negligence or wilful misconduct).
Safety & Conduct Agreement
I agree to:
- Always follow the instructions of the assigned skipper and event organizers.
- Wear a life jacket when required.
- Abstain from excessive alcohol consumption while sailing.
- Respect fellow participants and behave in a responsible, sportsmanlike manner.
- Comply with all environmental and safety regulations during the event.
Failure to follow these rules may result in disqualification and removal from the event.
Medical Fitness & Emergency Authorization
- I confirm that I am physically fit to participate and have no medical conditions that would put me or others at risk.
- I agree to inform the organizers of any medical conditions or allergies before the event.
- In case of an emergency, I authorize the event organizers to seek medical assistance on my behalf, and I accept full financial responsibility for any associated medical costs.
Indemnification
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the event organizers, sponsors, and associated parties from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from my participation, including legal fees.
Media & Photography Consent
I am aware of the Privacy and Personal Data Protection Policy, and I consent to the use of my image, and likeness in event-related photography, videos, and promotional materials.
Minors’ parents need to give consent for their children.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction
This agreement is governed by the laws of Greece, and any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Athens.
